Not only does House return tonight (I leave soon to walk over to HSCLassmate's dorm to watch it), but Roommate J and I just went to a dinner talk given by Master Awesome about what matters to him. It was hosted by the Office of Religious Life and was part of a series of speeches held in the same room where my picture (the one that, after I decided to stick it to the man, got selected for the "What is Family?" exhibit) is on the wall along with many others. There were tons of people there, and Roommate J and I were lucky to get both chairs and dinner. Master Awesome spoke and his speech was great, but what was even better were the questions that followed and the responses they prompted. I am so excited for next year, when I will be taking one of his classes. Hurrah!
And so, without further ado, the unveiling of Nom de Plume's Fall 2008 course list:
1) Class taught by Elaine Pagels (!)
2) Women's Studies (yes, we still call it that. we are so behind) intro class
3) English department prerequisite on reading fiction
4) English class taught by Master Awesome, including Dracula and The Picture of Dorian Grey.
5) A French class on "New Wave Cinema." I'm taking it was Downstairs Chatterer and a vaguely irritating guy who is related to a B list actress who I saw in a movie in France.
I am ridiculously excited about everything. And once again I have no Friday lectures. Life is good.
