Instead of telling you something really alarming and patently untrue, I thought I'd tell you a story I learned while watching QI, an excellent show.
Apparently as a joke Arthur Conan Doyle once wrote a note that said, "WE ARE DISCOVERED. FLEE IMMEDIATELY." He sent it to five of his friends and one of them disappeared.

I'm saving that one away for the future.
