I have been looking for this article for four years, ever since I read a brief synopsis of it in the New York Times. It's pretty much the best thing ever. The same medical journal did this diagnosis of, seemingly, the entire 100 Acre Wood, but it is less humorous and more sad. Or maybe I just have an unnaturally soft heart, and believe that what intrepid journalist Tintin can take, a "chubby little cubby all stuffed with fluff" shouldn't have to.
The "hazing" went really well. It turned out to be a scavenger hunt in the pouring rain, but that was OK because my team was into it (my previous scavenger hunt experiences have been utterly miserable because participants were too cool to enjoy themselves) and we won. What did we win? AB-so-LUTE-ly NOTHING! Yay!
Waiting for us at the end of the scavenger hunt was a pizza party in ResidentialCollege's common room. You may know it from the pen scene in A Beautiful Mind. Apparently last year they went to a club and did jello shots. This year we ate an ice cream cake. I am convinced that something will soon go horribly wrong for me, because so many things have lately been going right.
Following the pizza, I went with a new friend (made through a friend of CC) to the Hats for the Homeless meeting I frequented at the beginning of the year. It was tons of fun, and when I returned I found the more social SoccerRoommate sitting at her computer and doing her homework. Hah! I win!
Although today she has the flu, so I'm feeling bad about my gloating.
It's incredibly windy here. Abnormally so, in fact, and we're under a flood watch. Oh, and a "high wind warning," whatever that means, which I just learned from RussianRoommate, who just came in saying (after the lights flickered for the tenth time) "We're all gonna die."
Hopefully CC's performance tonight goes ahead as planned. Roommate J and I are really looking forward to it.
