I was given two hours off this morning to make up for the two hours I spent tonight taping the cabaret show (which was EXCELLENT), but I only took one and showed up at work early. I spent all morning making photocopies and scans of plays to be given to the casting man (NPR voice guy who hired me) and printed out two plays sent in by an agent the theater likes a lot. One of them had a photo of a Chihuahua dressed as a nun on the cover. I didn’t quite know what to make of that.
Today was Soon-to-be-not-Intern D’s last day and he mostly sat there looking around the Library nostalgically. After lunch I read a play set in 1967 in Haifa, and then started in on a project where I put the 2008-2009 theater seasons of tons of contemporary theaters into a spreadsheet. It may take me the whole of my natural life. Luckily BossLady said that it was a loooong project.
At lunch I went and got my library card, thanks to Flatmate H who gave me my letter from the theater saying that I could get one for free. Now I can read Babycakes. Huzzah!
Dinner was a rapid salad and then I went to videotape Outlaws and Angels, which the theater put together with a team of New York actors. They were really good. Now I’m watching Six Feet Under, pending going to sleep and rising early to finish up my intern orientation. Lunch break will find me at the library, doubtless. ☺

I'm sitting on the porch with Flatmate H right now where we can get a faint internet connection to the house next door. Today was made up of going to the library and getting Babycakes (yay!), reading The Mystery of Irma Vep which I'll be doing crew for when it gets going, continuing my lifelong compilation project, and going to a roundtable reading with BossLady, BigBossMan, actors, and the playwright. It was AWESOME. It was heartening to see that real playwrights writing for real, well respected theaters go through the same process as I did in Nebraska.
Tomorrow I work noon to six and then I think on Sunday I'm going to see the Sex and the City movie. Just now SexyDownstairsNeighborMan joined us. He has a girlfriend. It's sad.
I had pizza for dinner tonight with Flatmate H and Flatmate S and Neighbor C, so I think I'm making friends.
