Poor Obama, poor Robbie and Cecilia, poor me, for having to write this French paper.
Atonement was excellent. I cried, of course, but not as hard as I did when I first read it, at approximately the age the younger sister (the novelist/playwright) is when she ruins everything.
Wish me luck on my first push into French courtly love, the mistresses and favorites of the Renaissance, and the relations between men and women in Candide. (We were supposed to pick three elements, one from each period we studied, that were at least loosely related and "spoke to our modernity.")
