So what else am I doing these days? Dealing with my busiest semester on record. Unlike last spring semester, however, when I was suffering under the dual yokes of a publication with funding problems and a math class, this spring everything keeping me busy is positive. So on the individual event level I am happier than ever. In general, though, I could use a little more free time.
For instance, at the moment I'm knee-deep in rehearsals for The Play. Yes, I am in fact directing my own work again, which is always a mixed bag: a really, really fun mixed bag. For instance, I love my cast. They're totally hilarious and eager to get their characters rights. Some of them have brought different (and better) interpretations to the table and some of them deliver the lines just as I hear them in my head. So that's great. The only problem is they're all Princeton students and since this is a rather low-key undertaking, it's hard to schedule them. There's only one night each week when they can all meet, which is fine now--I don't need them all, nor would I want them, for every scene--but for tech week things will definitely get complex.
That's my story.
